The investigation of the appliances and their use was conducted by five local groups of designers and psychologists Whirlpool , each of which examined ten different domestic situations, families or singles, composed of individuals of social class and upper-middle age ranging between 27 and 40 years.


Each participant was assigned certain tasks, including storage after shopping or preparing a meal. The behaviors described through interviews and filmed by a camera, were analyzed and found similar needs, which are common to those who live in Mexico and Asia, related to the need to filter the water, or noting that in Asia you prefer to buy daily fresh fruits and vegetables, using the refrigerator to store cosmetics instead.
